Just when it seemed like the party season was winding down, we have one more to prepare for: Ethiopian Christmas! The Ethiopians follow a different calendar than us, so their Christmas celebration commences later than ours. You can read about the tradition here. We're celebrating tonight with family and friends. I'm making misr wat (a type of lentil stew) and tikel gomen this afternoon and am anxious to put on my traditional white clothes and partake in a feast!
I loved the time we spent in Ethiopia in 2011 and 2012 and am really anxious to go back. It's probably not going to happen this year, but maybe 2015? One can hope.
